WordPress 5.5 which is on track to be released 11th August will finally plugins and themes to be updated using a zip file.

The feature is hidden behind the Add New > Upload button screens from plugins in wp-admin.

Updating plugins by zip file is much easier when using MainWP.

But at least it fixes an 11 year old bug and closes a 11 year ticket in core lol.
